How to Change the Fuel Filter

Preparation

Replacement steps
- Release the fuel system pressure: Before changing the fuel filter, you must release the pressure in the fuel system. Usually you can remove the pressure by unplugging the fuse or relay, stopping the fuel pump, or starting the vehicle and then shutting it off.
- Remove the old fuel filter:
o If the fuel filter is a clamp type (clamp type), use a wrench or pliers to loosen the connected pipe and clamp.
o If it is a threaded connection, use a wrench to remove it.
o Be careful to keep it clean to prevent dirt from entering the fuel system.
- Install the new fuel filter:
o Install the new fuel filter in the original position, making sure the direction is correct (most filters will have the inlet and outlet directions marked on them).
o Make sure the fuel pipe is firmly connected to the filter. Use a wrench or pliers to tighten the screws to prevent them from loosening.
